About the Mu'allimah

Sr. Momina Arain — a classically trained scholar, devoted educator, and loving mother

Sr. Momina is a devoted Islamic educator and a mother of four. Her journey in the pursuit of traditional Islamic learning began in Buffalo, New York, where she completed a three-year A'limiyah program at Darul Uloom Al-Madania. She then traveled to Pakistan to complete the remainder of her A'limiyah studies.

Alhamdulillah, she completed her Takhreej in 2014 / 1435 Hijri, studying under some of the most respected scholars of our time, including Mufti Rafi Ahmed (a student of Mufti Taqi Usmani Sahib) and Maulana Abdul Haleem al-Nu'maani al-Chishti, Head of the Department of Takhassus-fil-Ahadeeth at Jamia Uloomul-Islamiyah, Karachi.

Through this blessed journey, she was honored with Ijazah-tul-Ahadeeth, granting her authorization in the transmission and teaching of Hadith. She also completed a Quranic Tajweed Certification and was awarded the Shahadatul Almiya Fil Uloomal Arabia wal Islamia — a qualification recognized as equivalent to an M.A. in Arabic / Islamic Studies.

Her studies included a thorough reading of the Sihah Sittah, the six most authentic books of Hadith, and she became actively involved in teaching Dars-e-Nizami, the traditional curriculum of the Islamic sacred sciences. She later also served as an Arabic Language Teacher, teaching Arabic grammar to first-year students of the A'limiyah program.

“As a mother of four, my passion for teaching is deeply rooted not only in my years of traditional Islamic study, but also in my heartfelt desire to nurture the next generation upon faith, character, and love for deen. My hope is not only to teach knowledge, but to help raise a generation of young Muslims who become a source of goodness, a reflection of prophetic manners, and an example for others in their faith, conduct, and service to the Ummah.”
